Generating a Competitive Intel report
Feature Purpose
Whether you’re looking for insights before or after running a campaign, a competitive intel report delivers current brand perception, against your biggest competitors. A single report will measure share of voice, sentiment and emotion ranking, within buying motivations and pain points. With the results, you can develop the full picture of where your brand(s) or product(s) sit within the competitive landscape. Therefore, a competitive intel report can help determine next steps for your marketing efforts, uncover new campaign goals, and of course, keep a pulse on current trends that surround your product or brand. Let’s get started with generating a new report!
Step-by-Step Process
- After logging in, you will land on your campaign list page
- In the main navigation, select Competitive Intel
- To create a new report, click the Create Report button in the upper right corner
- In the first dialogue box, enter your brand or product name as well as the URL which best suits your purpose.
- This could be the landing page in which you would like to use for your campaign, or an About page which provides the most information about your product or brand.
- Upon clicking submit, a validation step will initiate to confirm that the product or brand is real, available and pertains a sufficient amount of online data with it.
- Once the product validation is complete, generally within 5 minutes, the dialogue box will update to display the most relevant category based on your brand or product.
- The first option will be selected by default which is typically the recommended approach, however you can choose others that might align better with certain value propositions, or add your own category manually.
- Upon clicking submit, the next step is to list and select competitors that match your selected category. This process can take up to 5 minutes as well.
- Once loaded, the competitors will appear on screen, with the option to Accept or Reject each competitor to be added to your report.
- Similar to the category, you can manually add a competitor by scrolling to the bottom of the list. You will have to Accept at least one competitor in order to generate the report.
- If you are unsure of which competitors to choose at this stage, you can click cancel, or the ⊗ in the upper right corner to return to the selection later on. Your progress will be saved in the main dashboard so you can continue where you left off if needed.
- Clicking Submit is the last step in the process which will kickstart the report generation. The report can take anywhere between 1 - 5 hours to generate, but you can enter your email to be notified of when the report is complete.
